What Are The Staff Qualifications?

At GTBC we know our teachers are the heart and soul of our school, and that we are accountable to them and our families! We have high expectations of our teachers, and they hold themselves to even higher personal standards! Our teachers treat their students like family and go above and beyond to help each child succeed.

Our teachers are all licensed RBTs or certified ESE teachers trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis.

Our teachers undergo annual trainings such as:

  • PCM (To keep children safe in self-harm situations
  • CPR certification
  • HIPPA
  • Safety Care
  • And more…

Trainings cover best practices and more and are held to the ethical and compliance standards of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).  Every teacher is under the supervision of a licensed BCBA or BCaBA and receives direct and indirect supervision hours each week.

All staff are trained to respect personal boundaries and obtain consent before initiating physical assistance, including hygiene support, mobility guidance, or behavioral intervention. We recognize the importance of bodily autonomy and strive to offer choices, use the least intrusive support strategies, and provide services in a way that honors the preferences, communication styles, and comfort levels of each individual. Participants are never touched, moved, or redirected without clear communication and respect for their personal space. This approach is aligned with trauma-informed care principles and person-centered values. All safety protocols are designed to prioritize the individual’s rights, safety, and emotional well-being.

What Does RBT, BCaBA and BCBA stand for?

RBT, BCaBA and BCBA are three levels of licensing in the area of Applied Behavioral Analysis.

A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) practices under the ongoing supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA. The RBT is primary responsibly for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services.

A Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) requires a undergraduate degree with several courses related to Behavior Analysis, less than a year of supervised practice, and passing a International Exam in behavior analysis.

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a board certified individual who is trained to provide and supervise behavior analysis, often it is the BCBA who supervises individuals providing Applied Behavioral Analysis.
