Our tailored preschool and elementary programs focus on language, academics, and social skills, while our middle grades and FUNctional classes emphasize higher learning and life skills. For older students, our G.I.F.T. Program provides essential daily living, social, and vocational training. With dedicated support like occupational and speech therapy, adaptive physical education, and partnerships with the Special Olympics, we ensure every student thrives. Meet Sarah
Sarah came to Growing Together Behavioral Center and she needed help with every task to live functionally. After a few months at GTBC, she was able to feed herself and send signals to communicate her needs! Sarah uses tapping signals and pictures to help communicate her needs. Her favorite is to ask for One Direction and Frozen songs! Sarah may still be considered medically complex, but her life and that of her family, have completely transformed as she has grown at the school.
Meet Evan
Evan wanted to have friends but the need for communication skills and harmful tantrum behavior affected his ability to build positive relationships with his peers. He joined Growing Together Behavioral Center in 2020 to receive a smaller ratio classroom and learn functional and coping skills. Now Evan has made many friends at GTBC! He leads imaginary play scenarios on the playground, chats up a storm on Mondays about his weekend, and is considering joining the baseball league soon!
Meet Trey
Trey arrived at Growing Together Behavioral Center terrified of classrooms and teachers. Frequent meltdowns made it difficult for this smart cookie to succeed. With the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and an individually tailored approach, the school built trust with Trey and helped him adapt to a school setting. He worked one-on-one with a therapist every day, gradually gaining confidence. Today, Trey is thriving in the highest-level academic classroom! He even enjoys playing board games with his peers and teachers.
Melissa and her husband, Matt, adopted four incredible children from China and South Korea. Inspired by the need to provide a supportive learning environment for their youngest son, Aiden, Melissa founded GTBC. With over 25 years of experience in finance and a Master in Business Administration with an emphasis on Entrepreneurship, Melissa has dedicated herself to creating a place where children with diverse learning abilities can thrive.
