We love our volunteers!! We appreciate and value each person who takes time out of their schedule to help our school! Whether your love is administrative, gardening, getting crafty, reading stories, helping chaperone field trips, organizing events or so much more, you are needed! Note: service hours letters can be provided for volunteers.
We love seeing people with a heart for special children and a drive to make a difference joining our profession! If you are currently in school for special education, deaf education, speech therapy, occupational therapy or getting certified as an RBT or BCBA we would love to partner with you through our internship program.
All volunteers must complete an application, provide references and complete background checks to be permitted on campus during school and clinic hours. Without an approved application, volunteers will be able to provide assistance after hours and off-site only.
All interns must complete an application, provide references and complete a background check. Access to campus will be permitted only after your application is approved.
For the safety of our students, no exceptions will be made; only volunteers and interns with completed and approved applications and background checks will be allowed on campus during school and clinic hours.
All of our service providers are behavioral techs, registered behavioral therapists (RBT) or providers with higher degrees such as a BCaBA, BCBA or certified teacher. Behavioral techs are typically new to the clinic setting, but have at least 3 years of childcare experience, including situational experience dealing with challenging behaviors, children on the spectrum, and/or language development. All behavioral techs are required to go through the training to become an RBT within 90 days of starting at Growing Together, and are provided extensive training both in small group and direct supervision.
All staff at Growing Together are provided direct supervision from a BCBA or BCaBA, as well as individual and group training each month. Continuing education and skill development is required of all therapists and teachers.
We are so thankful for the local community who come together to support our students. Whether you are part of that community as a parent, teacher, family member, friend, or volunteer at church… you are amazing. To be a part of the local community supporting children is to fill a critical need! We are thankful for your support and always welcome groups reaching out to volunteer!!
